Well, Absolute, there are several different answers I can think of. I wish you had a little more information so I could narrow it down, but here is what I have so far... Dancing, partying, and other periods of high emotion can have a very interesting effect. One's awareness can increase suddenly, so that you notice something previously hidden to you. In this case, everything became more surreal. #1. Dreams are surreal for a reason. It is because the senses you would normally use are subdued, and other senses are used. Unfourtunately, these senses are often unexcercised, and therefore weak. When you became aware, a new sense was opened up, and all your attention was paid to that sense. Ever noticed how you can ignore your senses without even knowing it? For instance, what are you smelling right now? You likely weren't focusing on smell. Since your new sense is weak, however, you cannot really make anything out with it, whatever it is that this heightened awareness can do. My suggestion here would be that, whenever things seem to go into a dream without warning, ignore what you are hearing, feeling, and seeing. But don't close your eyes. This may seem difficult, but if you try it enough, your senses will sharpen. Who knows what you might 'see'? #2. It's because you -are- in a dream. If you take to heart the concept that time does not exist, and also the concept of reincarnation, you are living in several bodies at once. Usually, through the barriers of time and space, these bodies are totally unaware of each other. However, sometimes a kind of super-deja vu 'reminds' one of another life, time or place. Which happens to be happening right now, so to speak. A shared thought, shared sight or shared emotion between the two 'yous' can cause a link to occur. Your other 'you' would be feeling the same thing, and feeling equally confused. My only advice if this is the case is to try to communicate when the dream feeling occurs. Scream out in your mind, "I am !" That should evoke some response. #3. Ever heard of the Astral Plane? Basically, it's a kind of dimension just abouve the one we currently inhabit. The Prime Material Plane (here) has a direct impact on the Astral. That is to say, the Astral plane closely resembles this one. A certain group who I like to call DreamScape Walkers have the ability to project their consciousness into the Astral Plane, 'walk' around and intereact in general there. Everyone has this ability, though some more strongly than others. Dreams just happen to occur on a sub-plane between the Astral and Prime Material. Sometimes dreams actually touch upon the Astral. This usually occurs in dreams where the dreamer is lucid (aware s/he is dreaming.) Very rarely, the next step can be taken, and an awake person can actually touch the Astral, though only barely. This could have happened one of two ways: One, your awareness was extended towards the Astral by a feeling of general euphoria (this is what happens to many drugheads, though drugs are totally unnescesary), or Two, the fabric between the Astral and the Prime Material became 'thinner' at the point of the dance. This has been known to happen in places like parties, where emotion is high and minds are open to just about anything. In this case, my advice is to learn DreamScape Walking yourself, at least to the point that you can stop your subconscious mind from trying to access the Astral randomly. This is really something everyone should learn. If you wish to learn, visit http://spiritweb.com/Spirit/projection.html It should tell you all you need to know. And there you have it. One more ripple in the ocean of the unaware. Once you know, you can never go back. - The Awakener, Shade Night
