Okay here it is, first of all this is all leading up to the new episode entitled, what else
"The Harbingers". It's about Derek going off to that phsycic (didn't spell that right) fair. Wilson Ashcroft is a writer and is in the episode which will air Jan. 5/2001.
As for the hand well it's obviously a symbol of a palm reader, or someone along those lines. Wilson Ashcroft is not a real writer, at least not that I am aware of and that is why no one can find his book. As for the dialogue between Adam and Derek well I kind of pieced this together for those out there who think they know what it means.
