I've had the same experience, though with lesser frequency. I would agree that it's nothing worth writing down, really.
As for the Astral prjoection, I can't be sure what 'power' these sources are talking about. I know there was no real test whenever I began projection, but you could be a special case.
When it comes to the unseen beings, frequently called the Powers That Be, all I can say is that there is always a greater macrocosm. Meaning that no matter how grand and powerful something may seem to be, there is always something more powerful. So I wouldn't worry about it.
