      I Am Definitely Not Psychic.

Here one for you, I am not one of those people that I would call psychic. By that I mean I have not ever had that déjà vu experience and if I try to play the 'guess the card' game, I am almost always wrong. However, I started doing something I call quiet meditation when I was young, and I mean early teens. I read as many books on the subject as I could, and sort of formed my own style, which was really a combination of several. I did this daily for fifteen to twenty minutes. Just after turning twenty, I met a full blooded Arapahoe Indian who taught me the final technique to overcome what I perceive was the last barrier to true quiet meditation. By that I mean the breathing, as it interferes with the elimination of thought. After about another year of this, something happened. Mind you I did this because it always left me refreshed and allowed me to get by on four hours of sleep a day. That was my only reason for it, and that was all I expected until I met the Indian. After getting beyond the point of interference, I started experiencing what I call wide-awake dreams. They are not a daily thing or even a weekly thing, and are unpredictable as far as the amount of time between one and another. They don’t last long, (about 5 minutes) and are not prophetic in any way, they are just very clear enhanced dreams, and I shall even say fantastic dreams. You see I believe that when the conscious mind is forced to a point of no conscious thought whatsoever, or close to that point, the brain becomes, for lack of a better word, frustrated. It responds with the only tool it has real control over, the subconscious mind. This is what I believe causes the dreams.

This is the slight ‘Psychic’ tie-in. You see I taught this technique to my friend and he caught on relatively quickly as it was only about a year before he also started having these wide-awake dreams. Of course it helped that I had done all the research so he did not go through the trial and error I did. The strange part is, one time I had one of these dreams and he was in it. Of course it was a fighting dream, not my style but his, as he is very much into the martial arts thing. It took place in a Chinese Temple and we were fighting with some urgency to get to the top of the stairs. It was two against many, and as I said it was not at all prophetic. Also, except for in my dreams I can’t fight like that at all, but he can. The thing is, he had the same wide-awake dream, same Temple, same battle, and same purpose. He was living up north at the time so we don’t know if happened on the same day, but it was close. It was actually a month or so latter when I went to visit him and his wife, that we discussed this particular dream. Each of us took turns telling parts of it, and it was so similar that his wife began meditation herself. We have also seen other people in these dreams that by all accounts and descriptions are the same, as well as similar places. Isn’t that interesting? Hope so…
