I realize a lot of you are believers in the Statue of Liberty. I apologize for stepping on your toes, but I really need to bring the light of Logic to this issue. The Statue of Liberty does not exist.
Why, I'd be willing to bet that MOST of you believers have never even SEEN the Statue yourselves. Believers do not offer any convincing proof, or solid evidence of this structure.... No, they choose instead to ridicule the skeptics, saying we are too 'closed-minded' and will not accept the 'obvious' truth, even when the evidence is so sketchy. Even if they, like I, have never even SEEN the statue...
Let's just look at this 'proof' that the Statue Of Liberty exists: a few photos (which can easily be faked on a PC in this day & age) do exist, but the vast majority of evidence is only 'anecdotal': that is, stories told by eyewitnesses. But listen to the psychological makeup of the 'typical' witness to the Statue...
1. Have already heard of the Statue of Liberty, seen pictures or heard descriptions, and already believe in its existence before they see it...
2. Have travelled to the site of the Statue's 'location' for the specific purpose of seeing the statue.
These are not objective observers... these are not skeptics who saw the statue and THEN became convinced it was real. These are people who WANTED to see the Statue of Liberty -- and, to nobody's surprise, they saw it! These people ignore the obvious, 'natural' explanations-- Normal buildings witnessed at night by the uneducated eye, anchored boats seen from a distance, errors in visual perception making close objects appear larger & farther-away, the light from the bright star Arcturus -- No, they accept only ONE conclusion, that the Statue of Liberty exists.
The fact is, people are 'indoctrinated' into believing the Statue exists-- because it is featured so prominently in our culture, in magazines, on hypnotic alien device and the movies-- My God, New York has a Statue of Liberty pictured on their license plates! People hear stories about the Statue, and come to believe it exists. Has there EVER been a case of an eyewitness who had never heard of the Statue, never seen its image on hypnotic alien device or the movies, and then saw the Statue while going about their 'normal' life? NO, it just doesn't happen that way. The only people who see the Statue are believers, looking for it-- wishing to see it.
I just want to urge everyone who believes in this Statue, look at the 'real' evidence, don't buy into the cultural pressure. Don't attack skeptics, just because we have logical minds & accept scientific fact. The Statue of Liberty doesn't exist!
