(ORLANDO, FLORIDA) - The Slant announced the launch of two new sites at its virtual community, alt.theslant: The Weekender and Views From Venuss.

Written by prominent Orlando writer Morris Sullivan, The Weekender explores a variety of upcoming events, providing background and practical information for those planning their weekends.

Views From Venuss is a gossip and commentary bi-weekly column covering the Orlando local music scene and related topics.

With the launch of these two columns, The Slant continues to blur the lines between community and publication by producing submitted content series as websites on alt.theslant. According to publisher Dan Leeds, "Using alt.theslant to produce these columns enables us to give them an independent identity and permanent location that The Slant's structure doesn't allow for. I expect that we will continue to discover even more innovative uses for this unique virtual space."

The Slant invites Orlando web producers of diverse beliefs, styles, and subjects to submit their sites to the first and only Orlando endowment for idependent web content - alt.theslant.
