Jim Rhoades - Lead Designer/Content Creator
Jim was the lead designer for Freaky Links, creating the overall look of the freakylinks.com web site. He also did much of the work in updating the site by putting up the new diary and freak-o-pedia entries which were written by Brian Cain.

The heroic hacker "J-Caplock" (a.k.a. Jim Rhoades) downloads a virus into the bad guy's system.

When first trying to come up with a design for the site Jim tried thinking of something to use that would be creepy and instill a sense of fear in someone. He joked with co-worker J.D. Ashcraft about taking a picture of J.D.'s eyeball since he thought that would look pretty gross. They tried it, and what started as a joke turned into the Freaky Links eyeball - and part of the website design that was used on FreakyLinks.com. Here's the first version of that design:

Jim also made a few other designs to work on the color scheme, and to give the producers something to choose from (secretly hoping they would like the eyeball thing all along):



Jim and the producers agreed that they liked the eyeball, but also liked the darker feel of the later designs. So, the two ideas were combined to produce the final FreakyLinks.com design:
